ART GOEBEL & LT. W. V. DAVIS, Jr SIGNATURES,
On 17, August, 1927 Art Goebel won the Dole Race with an elapsed time of 25 hours, 17 minutes (2400 miles). His navigaor was Lt. William V. Davis, Jr. Prior to the race, Goebel was a movie stunt pilot, later he had a flight school in Kansas City. Lt. Davis (later Admiral) commanded the VT-5 on the Yorktown in WW II and became the second Navy pilot to exceed Mach 1 in the D-558-2.

General Harry F.G. Letson- Canadian Army, won Belgian Military Cross (1917). In WW II, he held posts as Canadian Military Attaché and Commander of Canadian Army Staff in Washington. His signature is in the lower right corner of a 8" x 10" photo of a painting of the General.

Admiral Davis (Lt. Davis at the time) wasthe on-board navigator for Art Goebelwhen he won the 1927 Dole Race. In the Woolaroc, later Davis commanded VT-5 aboard the Yorktown in WW II. He became the second navy pilot to break the sound barrier (D-558-2, and was the director for the USS Alabama Commission. Type written response to a photo request and signed on USS Alabama Commission stationery.

ralph H. Upson signed a correction sheet for the 1950-51 Who's Who in America. Upson made his first balloon ascent in 1906. In 1913, he won the Gordon Bennet cup. He won the American National Balloon Race in 1913, 1919 and 1920. He designed the ZMC-2, the first metal-clad airship.

WILLIAM C. REID, VC - SIGNED ENVELOPE, Flew Landcasters with 61 Sdn. On Nov. 3, 1943, his plane was severly hight by Night Fighters twice. He was wounded but continued on to hit the target (Dusseldorf) and returned to England. After recovering from his wounds, he transfered to 617 Sqdn.

THE STORY OF VERNON AND IRENE CASTLE - MOVIE POSTER (reproduced) & AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS, 1939 Movie poster and photographs autographed by Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers. Portrays America's hugely popular early 20th century husband and wife dance team. Vernon served as a pilot and flight instructor during World War I. In 1918, while conducting flight maneuvers at Benbrook Field near Fort Worth, Texas his plane crashed and he was killed instantly. Fred Astaire's photograph is signed. Ginger Roger's photograph is inscribed "To Sue A. Salter, My warmest blessing, Ginger Rogers 1988" Framed & Matted 18 12" x 24 1/2". $250.00
